RatingsNavigator ("we," "our," or "us") provides a review request automation platform for local businesses. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our website, dashboard, and SMS services (collectively, the "Service").

2. Information We Collect

Business Owners

  • Account information: name, email address, password, business name
  • Business details: Google Maps link, Google Place ID
  • Phone numbers of authorized team members
  • Payment information (processed securely by Stripe; we do not store card details)

Customers (End Users)

  • Name and phone number (provided by the business owner)
  • SMS message content exchanged with our system
  • Opt-out preferences

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To send review request text messages on behalf of businesses
  • To manage business accounts and provide the Service
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions
  • To honor opt-out requests and maintain do-not-contact lists
  • To improve our Service and troubleshoot issues
  • To communicate with business owners about their accounts

4. SMS Messaging & Consent

RatingsNavigator sends text messages to customers on behalf of businesses that use our platform. By providing a customer's phone number through our Service, the business owner confirms they have obtained appropriate consent to contact that customer.

Opt-Out: Any customer who receives a text message from RatingsNavigator can reply STOP at any time to immediately opt out of all future messages from that business. We also honor the following opt-out keywords: STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, QUIT, OPT OUT. Once opted out, the customer will receive a confirmation message and will not be contacted again.

Message Frequency: Customers typically receive 1-2 messages per service interaction (an initial review request and potentially one follow-up).

Message & Data Rates: Standard message and data rates may apply.

5. Data Sharing & No Third-Party Marketing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes. Your data — including phone numbers, message content, and business information — is never used for advertising, shared with data brokers, or provided to any third party for purposes unrelated to delivering the Service.

We share data only with the following service providers, strictly for the purpose of operating the Service:

  • Twilio: Our SMS delivery provider, to send and receive text messages
  • Stripe: Our payment processor, to handle billing
  • Google: Review links direct customers to Google Business Profile
  • Law enforcement: Only when required by law or to protect our legal rights

These providers are contractually obligated to use your data only for the purposes described above and in accordance with their own privacy policies.

6. Data Retention

We retain business account data for as long as the account is active. Customer phone numbers and message history are retained for the duration of the business's subscription. Opted-out customer records are retained indefinitely to ensure we continue to honor their opt-out preference.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS), secure password hashing (bcrypt), and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Opt out of SMS communications (reply STOP)
